- The animated device consists of 10 'slots' that are unlockable as the lights across the bottom light up.
- The rings can be rotated by clicking and dragging them in a circular motion until single numbers appear in the three 'windows' as a combination lock.
- The device also includes a couple of strange themes that indicate potential puzzles: Chimes, and Runes.

5 - 1 - 3 -- sum total the 3 sets of combination digits for locks 1 through 9 to arrive at 203, 208, 174. Add the digits of each number until 1 digit remains for each. - 5, 1, 3.
Result/Reward:
- A Runed 'keyboard' asking for two words: 6 letters, and 4 letters.
Clue:
- The first has already been revealed in Runes.
- The second word is what you want to see.
Solution:

Each unlocked reward displayed a single rune in its frame, translated to: UNLOCK, the first word. The second word is another variant of the movie - not HBOY as used previously, but HBII. "UNLOCK HBII"
Result/Reward:
- A congratulatory message for unlocking The Device, the link to enter into the special Hellboy II advanced screening draw, followed ultimately by an animated version of the online Hellboy comics.
